5 - Description:
This utility converts Microsoft Access files from original DB formats (ADP, MDB, ADE, MDE, ACCDB, ACCDE, ACCDT, ACCDR) to EXE format. Like original DB files, the EXE files created are not independent of Access, but they allow you to define Access's properties before opening, and improve the portability and functionality without macro alert. The conversion, moreover to maintain the original format features, inclusive for editing thru the Access, adds others functionalities.
6 - Installation process:
No installation and no Windows register change are required to covert DB file to EXE.
7 - Program functionality:
The DB file is compressed and wrapped in the DBtoEXE.exe as it is (appended) and the resulting EXE (converted EXE) is a self extractor that can be auto update using an internal EXE tool of same name self-extracted and executed in a subfolder created temporarily in the Windows Temp folder. In the conversion, the original names of the DBtoEXE.exe and its Temp tool, referred to here as DBtoEXEInTemp.exe, are changed to the same name of the converted DB preserving the EXE extension. The original VB6 compilations of the executables DBtoEXE.exe and DBtoEXEInTemp.exe never are changed except in names or sizes when adding data in their binary files in the conversion or in the auto-update when saving new data in the open DB in Access.
8 - Internal EXE tool:
File name: DBtoEXEInTemp.exe (At run time, it has the same name as the DBtoEXE.exe have)
